Planning Permission Granted for Warehouses

We are delighted to be able to announce that we have been granted planning permission for a new warehouse complex.  The decision is extremely important to us as we seek to further consolidate our absolute commitment to Islay, to retaining the character of our whisky while supporting our staff and the wider local community.

It is well known that we have made very public commitments to maturing all of our spirit for all of its life here on Islay. An increase in warehouse capacity is fundamental to delivering on that promise, and of course to being able to continue to bottle our spirits on the island.

The planning consent provides for the construction of six bonded warehouses that will be built over a number of years.  It also provides for a filling store, disgorging unit and external cask storage.  All will be located in the area to the north of Coultorsay, adjacent to the distillery.
