Jim McEwan – in pictures

Jim McEwan linked arms with his wife Barbara, daughters Lynne and Lesley and friends Duncan and Susan McGillivray before symbolically walking out of the distillery into a well earned retirement last Thursday.  23rd July 2015 was exactly 52 years to the day since he first started at Bowmore as an apprentice cooper..

Many words have been written about Jim’s extraordinary career and contribution to our great industry.  Whisky writer Dave Broom summed things up as elegantly as always in an article in  The Whisky Advocate.

An overview of some of the career highlights and a list of Jim’s many awards can be found here.

We thought we would put together a collection of some of the images taken by Jim’s friends and colleagues around the world. We thank you for them.

The whisky world will never be quite the same again.
