We are all looking forward to The Laddie Open Day 2013. With “Laddie Five – O” we will be celebrating Jim McEwan’s 50 years in the whisky business and around 400 lucky Laddiefans will be at Jim’s “Laddie Five – O Masterclass”which starts at 10.30am, Sunday morning. General admission to the distillery courtyard will be at 12.30.
We are delighted to be able to welcome back Tiree’s favourite sons, Skerryvore, for what promises to be another great day in the courtyard. Also gracing the stage will be The Maverick Angels, the brilliant singer songwriter Robin Laing and the wonderful Ella Edgar’s Dancers. One of the biggest cheers of the day is bound to be for the eagerly awaited return of Islay songstress Norma Munro.
The entertainment will be non-stop with appearances by Islay’s own Libby Morris, Dougie Gillespie, the Islay Line Dancers and Contraband. We can also look forward to inspirational sets from the Islay High School Pipers.
The courtyard will be full of refreshment opportunities including the Bruichladdich Blitz Bar, the Single Malt Whisky bar and the Islay Ales marquee. Mixologists Ewald and Tye will be serving Hawaiian cocktails and Jim is to hold an auction for the charity Spirit Aid, which is an organisation very close to his heart.
Look forward to seeing as many of you as can make the pilgrimage!
