This, Octomore 07.3, is the second release of Octomore of Octomore - Octomore whisky made from barley grown two miles along the coast from the distillery at farmer and friend James Brown's Octomore farm.
Those two words led to Port Charlotte, our heavily peated single malt expression; those two words led to the creation of the world’s only Islay Dry Gin and most importantly, those two words led to the reopening of Bruichladdich Distillery.
Octomore was born from a “what if” moment; those two small words, late in a dark Islay night at the Port Charlotte Hotel.
What if we were to take our barley, this barley of single and purest provenance, and peat it beyond any other barley ever used in the Scotch whisky industry?
What if we pass it slowly through the most delicate slow single malt distillation we can?
What if we were to make the most heavily peated whisky in the world?
What will result?
What will the peatiest whisky in the world taste like?
Welcome to Octomore, the iron fist in a velvet glove. If you think you know peated Islay whisky, think again.
We regret that our shipping costs are higher than most since we are on a storm beaten Atlantic island and have to courier all packets to the mainland before they can be shipped. Please also allow slightly longer than usual for delivery.
