A new Laddiewaggon for Germany

It will not be long now before the roads of Germany are graced by an impressive new Laddiewaggon. The Bruichladdich branded tractor and trailer combination will feature a larger than life rendition of the iconic photograph of our General Manager Duncan McGillivray examining the grain in a field of ripe Islay malting barley just prior to the harvest. Taken a couple of years ago now by photographer Roddy Mackay, the image has become synonymous with the Bruichladdich message that we are carrying around the world. “We believe terroir matters”.

The idea for the truck originated in a conversation between Marcus Gehrlein of Diversa, who distribute Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte and Octomore single malt whiskies in Germany, and our CEO Simon Coughlin. The drawings show the final design of the truck, and we hope to bring you some photos of the real thing on the road very soon.

The truck will be operated by ” Bernhard Land Internationale Spedition” based in Eystrup in northern Germany.
