A rather belated thank you is due to the literally thousands of people who made Laddie Day at Feis Ile 2014 on Sunday 25th May such a success. We were quite overwhelmed by the sheer weight of numbers who came to enjoy the craic – an afternoon of music, dancing, and great drams.
The performers were brilliant, Skerryvore, The Maverick Angels, Robin Laing, Norma Munro, Dougie Gillespie, The Gaelic Choir, the Pipe Band, Line Dancers and Ella Edgar’s wonderful young Highland dancers were all magnificent.
Thanks are due too to the many of you who bid up the, admittedly very impressive, collection of bottles that Jim auctioned for charity. Over three thousand pounds were raided for Cancer Research. Jim and Duncan also raised a further £434 for the charity Spirit Aid by asking for donations while signing bottles on the day.
We realise that it was so busy that many of you had to wait in line for all sorts of things, but nobody seemed to mind that much, even when the traditional glorious sunshine was punctuated with the odd shower. We appreciated your patience. Can’t wait until next year…
