Those who make the pilgrimage to Islay for the Malt and Music Festival (Feis Ile 2018) are in for a treat this year. We always throw a lively party and are often very fortunate with the sunshine, but this year things look and feel a little different. No spoilers from us. All will be revealed.
What we can tell you is that we’re delighted to announce our exclusive distillery only bottlings, on sale from 12.30pm on Sunday 27th May. This year, the gathered throngs will be offered two Port Charlotte whiskies. Fittingly selected by our Head Distiller Adam Hannett, these particular single malts have been chosen to celebrate the relaunch of our Port Charlotte range. After all, there’s no such thing as a whisky launch without some effing epic drams.
Port Charlotte ‘The Heretic’ 2001 70cl
“The Last of the First”: The very last five casks from Port Charlotte’s first year of distillation in 2001. Adam has carefully married these five casks which previously held either American whiskey, rum or fine French wine. Limited to 1300 bottles, the Heretic is bottled at 55.9% abv. and will be available for £125.
Port Charlotte, The Distillery Valinch 50cl
“Every now and again, you find an exceptional cask that deserves to stand alone.” – AH
A single cask bottling of the heavily-peated Port Charlotte spirit; distilled in 2005 and matured all its life in an Oloroso sherry butt. The Distillery Valinch is limited to 956 hand-numbered bottles. It’s been bottled at £59.3% abv, and will be available for £75.
