Douglas Taylor and Carl Reavey will ride as “Team Bruichladdich” in the Marie Curie ‘Etape Caledonia’ this weekend, Sunday 10th May. Starting along with over 5,000 other riders at 6.30am from the centre of Pitlochry in Tayside they will pedal a total of eighty one miles over closed roads in the biggest event of its kind in the UK.
Much of the course is through spectacular Scottish scenery, particularly perhaps when travelling alongside the lochs Tummell and Tannoch. The route will also take them past the mighty Schiehallion (although happily not over the top..!) where they will timed in a stage known as “The King of the Mountains”.
They will be raising money for Marie Curie, the charity that provides care for more than 40,000 terminally ill people and their families every year. Anything you can give towards this most worthwhile cause will be greatly appreciated.
