Win the Tens Troika! #ChannelRecord

IN

Phil Sharp is preparing to attempt a record breaking sail across the English Channel in his Class 40 monohull ‘Imerys’.

To celebrate the attempt we are going to have a fantastic Laddie ‘Tens Troika’ competition.

We are inviting you to guess what time Phil will achieve by Tweeting your best guesstimate with the hashtag #ChannelRecord

The current record stands at 12 hours 1 minute and 31 seconds.

The new attempt is to be ratified by the World Sailing Speed Record Council.

The competition is open now and entries will close six hours after his departure time from Cowes.  Which is expected to be imminent.  We will let you know as soon as we have it.

Whoever guesses the closest time will win the Troika, a bottle each of the new Second Editions of Laddie Ten, Port Charlotte 10 and Octomore 10.

Only one entry per Twitter handle Laddiefans…  You will need to sign up your Mum, Dad, brothers, sisters, neices, nephews etc. etc. if you want to have more than one go…. We understand Twitter would appreciate some new recruits.

Entries should be to the nearest second and must be posted on Twitter accompanied by the hashtag #ChannelRecord

We can only send the prize to the countries we are legally able to ship to.  Check out our list here.

The prize will be awarded even if Phil fails to break the record, but not if he fails to complete the course for any reason.

In the unlikely event of a dead heat between two entries, we have no idea what will happen.  We will probably draw lots to share the prize.  Or something like that.

You must be at least 18 years old to enter.  Proof of age appropriate to the entrant’s country of residence will be required before the prize can be shipped.

Very best of luck everybody…
