Feis Ile 2017 - some pictures

What a day.  The sun shone down on us for the seventeenth Laddieday in succession.  We are aware that our good fortune with the weather has become a bit of an island-wide joke – but the truth is that we do not have a hot line to some celestial being. Honest we don’t.  The law of averages means that everything is certain to go horribly wrong at some point in the future – but for now we simply enjoy each day as it unfolds.  When the bad weather comes, as it surely will one day, the Laddiefans will simply swim in it.

It certainly won’t affect Adam’s Masterclass.  Our head distiller delivered seven awesome drams to his sell-out audience; a Bruichladdich 1990; a mult-vintage Bruichladdich, a Bruichladdich from 1986; Port Charlotte ‘Transparency’; a Port Charlotte Islay Barley; an Octomore 2011 with a ‘Concept’ dram to finish that was a vatting of Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte and Octomore.  A recording of the live broadcast can be seen on LaddieTV, our YouTube channel.

The Feis Ile dram, 1,000 bottles of a multi-vintage Port Charlotte called 'Transparency' sold out very quickly.  The Botanist tent was as popular as ever - and the Yellow Submarine made it to the festivities for the second year in succession.

Tide Lines, Salsa Celtica, The Coaltown Daisies,  The Blueswater and the Islay Pipe Band rocked the courtyard. A great PA from Sound Acoustics too.  Brilliant.

Thanks to absolutely everyone who made it happen once again.  Can’t wait till next year…

We hope to be publishing some more media captured during the events but in the meantime we hope you enjoy this selection of pictures.
