Our Single Malt Scotch Whisky

There is a very good chance that the first single malt Scotch Whisky was produced on Islay. A product with little resemblance to the Islay single malt whiskies we enjoy today, this would have been a rough and ready perilous spirit consumed more for effect than enjoyment.

Fortunately over the last few centuries we have grown better at the dark craft of whisky making in Scotland, so much so that many of the global whisky brands out there (and whiskey brands, lest we forget our Irish and American cousins) owe their legacy to the early Scottish distillers.

Trickle distillation from our tall elegant stills combined with ultimately traceable barley, oak casks of the highest quality, a unique location on the coast of Islay and decades of whisky making expertise produce the complex and refined characteristics of our Islay single malts.
