Our Rare Vintage Single Malt Whisky

This rare whisky, this vintage single malt, is a legacy to those who came before us, to the craftsmen, the stillmen and mashmen, distillers and warehousemen, many of whom we are proud to say work with us again today. It is homage to the skills of yesteryear and testament to this old Victorian distillery we call home.

These oldest casks of our Scotch have lain by the salty shores of Lochindaal, breathing with the ebb and flow of the Atlantic ocean, year after year, decade after decade.

There is an age-old question of course: Is old whisky better whisky? Does vintage single malt have an elusive something special that a younger whisky doesn’t?

At Bruichladdich we like to think not. We champion diversity. Some of our most exciting whiskies are young, vibrant, bursting with energy, in the prime of life.

And yet there is also a time to pull up a chair, close the curtains, stoke the fire, ease back and indulge in something deeper, something that has taken a lifetime to be ready for your glass.

Our rare whisky includes small batch bottlings of only a handful of our finest old casks, selected by head distiller Jim McEwan. Limited editions, they will never be seen again.

Our vintage whisky is a contemplative dram, a dram to muse over, to savour and ponder. These are whiskies that command attention.
