Our Classic unpeated whisky

On an island famed and revered for whiskies of unmatched potency, phenolic content and might, Bruichladdich has always stood apart, renowned for its elegance and refinement.

Our barley is has a pedigree unrivalled in the Scotch industry. We use Scottish barley because we make Scotch whisky, not anonymous barley bought on the open market. We know every farmer that provides our barley and in many cases the very field it has come from.

We reintroduced barley growing to Islay almost a century after it had died out. Almost half our barley is organic and we are the first distillery anywhere to use biodynamic barley in our whisky. Our Uber Provenence range is our testament to this, the ultimate terroir in the whisky industry. It is what we are most proud of.

We are also proud to have one of the Scotch whisky industry’s leading oak cask policies - everything from American bourbon barrels to casks from the greatest of French vineyards, port pipes and sherry butts.

Our craftsmen at the distillery employ only the most traditional techniques, taking an age to produce this unrivalled spirit.

Then we leave it in our warehouses, leave it to the wild rigours of this Atlantic coast, to the briny sea air and westerly winds. And, when we judge it ready, we release it. Sometimes that may be decades later – our rare whisky, our vintage whisky, that most ancient of spirits.

Floral, complex and elegant, head distiller Jim McEwan and his team produce this unpeated style of single malt to showcase our barley, casks and spirit at their unadulterated best.
