Tasting Reviews - Full
Strength
"Full gold colour, visible viscosity. Very lively
nose with oaky bourbon
vanilla, nail varnish, dried fruits, musk, fudge, some seaweed and fennel. The
soft palate gives more sweet vanilla but also almonds and a maritime freshness
in the background, with top notes of foam candy and some oiliness. Long
aftertaste, with fudgy vanilla and sandalwood notes, together with dry grass or
perhaps moss, old wood sweetness and cloudberries. A friend of mine stated that
"this is both cigar and cognac - in a whisky!" and why not? It has a very good
body and I feel it might go well with game, maritime though it is."
Hope that might be useful. I really like this expression, as it delivers
head-on and is truly luxurious, almost "too much of the good stuff" - which, as
everyone knows, can be wonderful.
