Simon is married with two children. That should read ‘married, with two children’, the comma makes a big difference.
He became interested in the wine world while touring France after leaving school. And it has been downhill ever since.
Destined to be a Quantity Surveyor or some such noble profession, he ended up with out much persuasion, as a wine and spirit merchant instead.
Having bottled, labelled, and despatched wine for J.B. Reynier, he went on to retail with Les Amis du Vin in Covent Garden.
Simon worked for the brewers and wine merchants Eldridge Pope wholesaling to restaurants and breweries in the UK.
In 1987 he rejoined retailing with Mark at La Reserve in Knightsbridge. He has experience in every aspect of the premium drinks industry.
Simon has a fantastic collection of single malt whiskies at his home, which he insists are for quality control purposes only. A good chef, a serious rugby player, and a general all round (in every sense) bon viveur.
