Friday 13th Black Art Competition

Friday, 6 July 2012 POSTED BY Laddie Editor IN News

Black Art.  A new competition for July. Competition closes Friday 13th at midnight.

Among all our beautiful bottles, the Black Art stands alone.  No-one apart from Jim McEwan knows how this extraordinary dram is created.  He is said to construct it, tout seul, in the dead of night.  "A dark, sensuous whisky, very fine, incredibly elegant, decadently hued, perplexingly complex, mischievously prepared and subtly provocative."

In other words the perfect subject for one of our competitions.

Be inspired.  Win yourself a bottle of the latest release in this beguiling, otherworldly concept Bruichladdich - the Black Art 3.  Send us YOUR "Black Art". What constitutes Black Art?  It could be a photograph, or a story or a poem, a sculpture or even a cigar. You decide.

What are the rules?

The usual rules apply.  The judging will entirely subjective, and probably unfair.  We claim that the judges tend to be biased towards entries featuring the world's greatest single malt distillery, but that did not help those entering the last competition....  That was won by a nostalgic photograph of Port Ellen...

How do I enter?

Photos to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it please. Anything else could be posted to our Facebook wall. Sculpture, three dimensional dark art symbols, cigars etc would need to be sent to “The World’s Greatest Distillery, Bruichladdich, Islay” by Friday 13th July as the competition closes at midnight GMT on that day.

Bribing the judges might work. Cheating is also acceptable. The judges, after careful consideration, will make an arbitrary and probably unreasonable decision based on the excellence of the entries. Or maybe they will just pick the winner out of hat. Who knows?
