New Bottlings 2006
There are three entirely new bottlings this autumn and four updated releases of
existing cuvees. For the first time Jim has recorded his opinions of these
creations which are now available as a short Pod Cast - as well as a full
tasting note as usual.
New
Bottlings include a quite simply extraordinary 125 Anniversary bottling of the
1970 vintage. The 1970 we know is an outrageous dram; well Jim has just made it
even more so. A whisky suitable to mark this auspicious occasion. Listen to Jim

‘Blacker
Still’ is from a deeply Oloroso Sherry influenced set of casks from the 1986
vintage and is exceptionally dark coloured with a flavour to match. A short run
of casks, which we decided to bottle alone such was the flavour. Short of buying
a bottle of Valdespino – you won’t get much more sherry than this. Listen to Jim
McEwan's Podcast

PC5
is the first limited release bottling of the Port Charlotte – our first ever
bottling of the whisky we distilled at the opening of the distillery back in
2001 – of which we are inordinately proud. It is an entirely new type of Islay
Whisky: Bruichladdich elegance and Islay peat. Listen to Jim McEwan's Podcast

Updated
Releases include the 12 second edition that will take over from the 10 as the
aperitif cuvée in the mood malt range. 100% American oak it has been put
together by Jim to show the fruitness of the Laddie that makes this version such
a good dram to enjoy before dining, with water. For more information click

3D3
is the third version of 3D - the peated Multi-Vintage Bruichladdich. This single
malt selected from several vintages is even more peaty than the previous two
releases due to the debut of the mighty Octomore – the heaviest peated whisky in
the world at a whopping 80.5 ppm. Combined with other versions of the
Bruichladdich it makes for an awesomely complex and layered version of
Bruichladdich: peat without the medicine. Listen to Jim McEwan's Podcast

Legacy
5 is the latest release of our very oldest casks and features once again an
Islay oil painting of Islay by Frances Macdonald. 100% American oak, this is a
real suave dram – and most definitely not for sharing! For more information

5 features Hoylake - Royal Liverpool on the label. Once again it is a 14 year
old version of Bruichladdich, but yet again a different composition to make a
great comparative tasting. For more information click

We hope you have the chance to enjoy these exceptional bottlings of which we are
all very proud.
