and price details (or to order in advance)
General Store
There is a general store close by to the distillery, stocking basic toiletries,
house hold items and foods.
Expenses Incurred
Any additional costs incurred while staying at the distillery will be charged at
the end of the week to your credit card.
Extended Stays
You
may well wish to stay on (or arrive earlier) than your scheduled dates. We
recommend that a period of two to three days either side of the selected week
are included in your trip to allow for acclimatisation to Islay Time. The
section on Islay on this website has several suggestions of places to stay on
Islay that we are pleased to recommend. People tend to be reluctant to leave.

Room Occupation
The Distillery House
is closed on weekends. However rooms can be occupied by newly arrived guests
from Saturday 1pm but must be vacated by the following Saturday at 9am. No meals
can be provided on Saturday or Sundays – you will have to eat out. Guests
arriving by plane Saturday morning can be collected from the airport free of
charge.
Restaurants
Islay is blessed with very good beef, lamb, fish and seafood. You may wish to
try one or two of the restaurants: Our local three are the Port Charlotte Hotel
(restaurant and bar meals), The Croft Kitchen (restaurant and tea room) and The
Loch Indaal (bar meals) - all are situated in Port
Charlotte, one and a half miles to the west. An
Tigh Sailen (Maureen’s
bar) at 8 miles away at Portnahaven is well worth a
trip or two. Do not leave it late as last food orders are generally quite early
– around 8pm.
Bring a Partner
Your partner, sharing your room, is welcome for an extra charge of £300. Extra
curricular activity (of the mundane sort) is their own responsibility, though we
would be happy to advise.
Own Accommodation
The is a Board & Lodging discount of 30% for those wishing to make their own
accommodation arrangements. They will be responsible for arranging transport to
and from the distillery.
Public Transport
There is a bus service that runs past the distillery to Port Charlotte, and that
services the ferry ports of Port Askaig and Port Ellen as well as the Airport
and the main village of Bowmore
Taxis

staff (at their own risk), going either to Port Ellen or Port Charlotte, here are the taxi numbers
