A Valinch is a large ‘pipette’, used for removal of samples from casks, that
originating from France and Spain. The Valinch is reserved exclusively to
visitors to the distillery and cannot be obtained any other way.
The distillery has pays the duty on a single
cask so that each customer can fill a 50cl bottle personally, directly from the
cask, unfiltered at cask strength. It is then corked, capsuled and dressed with
a label bearing the cask details.
While we accept that some of these Valinches
will never be consumed, the casks have been selected by Jim for their sex
appeal, individuality and suitability as a stand alone bottling, suitable for
enjoyment at a low cask strength of around 47% - 53% alcohol.
