In aid of The Ciara Caskie Allan Appeal, the distillery managers of Islay have gathered together a unique collection of 12 bottlings, eleven Islay single malt whiskies plus one from Jura, selected individually from private collections and personally signed. Some are hand-vatted, some old, some rare, all collectable and with a story to tell.
The lot is to be sold as an entire collection to the highest bidder at the request of all the distillery managers. It will become a slice of Islay history.
Bidding has now opened and will be run online via web, social media and email; all bids must be in by 17:00 on 30th November. See below for details.

The response across the island and beyond to The Ciara Caskie Allan Appeal has been phenomenal. We are incredibly fortunate to have had many wonderful items donated towards the appeal - by distillery staff, by local people and businesses and with particular thanks to the Islay Rugby club and Port Ellen Football Club, with help from our friends at HMS Vanguard, all of whom took also part in the "Hands Across Islay" run last weekend to raise money.
So, in addition to The Ciara Collection, between now and the 30th November, we will be holding daily auctions to raise funds - unique whisky bottlings from Islay and Jura, distillery paraphernalia, signed rugby memorabilia, the weird, the wonderful and the collectable will all be up for grabs with all money going towards Ciara and her family.
When do the auctions run?
Lot 1: The Ciara Collection
The bidding is open now. The auction will close at 5pm on Friday 30th November, with the winning bid to be announced at a special whisky tasting held that evening by Jim McEwan at Bruichladdich Distillery. Details on how to bid are below.
We will be auctioning different items daily across Facebook and Twitter over the next two weeks so stay in touch and keep your eyes peeled as some auctions may be swift!
Lot details to be announced shortly.
How can I bid?
Bids will be accepted via Facebook, Twitter and as comments on this article below (registration not necessary). A record of the current highest bid will be updated on this article regularly.
Shipping to Winners
Shipping costs are included in all winning bids with the exception of Lot 1 and countries we are unable to ship alcohol to (USA, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, China). We are of course happy to hold the items for any winning bids at the distillery until the winner is able to collect or arrange shipping themselves to one of these countries.
For Lot 1, The Ciara Collection, given the incredibly precious nature of the contents, shipping is by arrangement with the winning party.
